The collaboration focuses on creating AI models that respect copyright and name/likeness rights while fostering musical creativity. KLAY aims to develop a global ecosystem for AI-driven music experiences with proper attribution, without competing with traditional artist catalogs.

Key aspects of the partnership:

  • Development of KLAYMM (Large Music Model) to advance Music AI technology
  • Ethical AI model building through industry consensus
  • Protection of human artistry and copyright
  • New monetization opportunities for rights holders
  • Accurate attribution system for AI-generated content

KLAY's leadership includes:

  • Ary Attie (Founder and CEO)
  • Thomas Hesse (former Sony Music Entertainment President)
  • Björn Winckler (joining from Google Deepmind)

The company plans to launch its revolutionary music experience product in the coming months, promising to transform how people interact with music while maintaining respect for artists and the creative community.

"Research is critical to building the foundations for AI music, but the tech is only an empty vessel when it doesn't engage with the culture it is meant to serve," says Ary Attie, emphasizing KLAY's commitment to making AI technology seamlessly integrate into daily music experiences.
