
Universal Music New Zealand Names Co-Managing Directors in Leadership Shake-Up
Universal Music New Zealand announces a significant leadership transition as Managing Director & Chairman Adam Holt prepares to retire after 24 years of leadership and 34 years with UMG, effective April 30, 2025.

Myra Hemara and Matt Kidd will succeed Holt as Co-Managing Directors starting May 1, 2025, reporting to Universal Music Australia & New Zealand President and CEO Sean Warner.
Hemara, who joined UMNZ in 2006, established the label's digital department and was appointed General Manager in 2017. She led the company's international artist marketing and audience development teams, bringing extensive digital strategy experience to her new role.
Kidd, a 12-year UMNZ veteran, progressed from promotions and public relations to leading domestic repertoire and business development teams. Since 2017, as General Manager, he has focused on expanding New Zealand talent globally.
The new leadership team, including Chief Financial Officer & Commercial Director Tony Jenks, will work together to drive UMNZ's next phase of growth and innovation.
Warner praised Holt's tenure, highlighting his exemplary commitment to artists, employees, and the New Zealand music industry. Holt expressed pride in his achievements and gratitude to Sir Lucian Grainge and Sean Warner for their trust in his leadership.
Both incoming Co-Managing Directors expressed excitement about their new roles. Hemara emphasized fostering connection, creativity, and collaboration, while Kidd highlighted the evolving landscape of artist development and innovation in the music industry.
This transition marks a new chapter for Universal Music New Zealand, building on Holt's legacy while embracing future opportunities in the dynamic music industry landscape.
