Big Machine Records, one of country music's most influential record labels, is currently owned by Hybe Corporation through its subsidiary Hybe America. The ownership changed hands in June 2019 when Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings acquired the label for $300 million, and subsequently, in 2021, Hybe Corporation purchased Ithaca Holdings for $1.05 billion.

The label was originally founded in 2005 by Scott Borchetta, who served as its president and CEO. During his tenure, Big Machine became renowned for launching Taylor Swift's career and representing numerous country music stars like Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, and Reba McEntire.

The current ownership structure breaks down as follows:

- Primary Owner: Hybe Corporation
- Direct Control: Hybe America
- Previous Owner: Ithaca Holdings (Scooter Braun)
- Founder: Scott Borchetta (who remains involved in operations)

This ownership transition has been notable in the music industry, particularly due to the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift's master recordings, which remained with Big Machine after her departure from the label in 2018.

Under Hybe's ownership, Big Machine Label Group continues to operate as one of Nashville's premier record labels, maintaining its focus on country music while expanding into other genres. The company operates several imprints, including Big Machine Records, The Valory Music Co., and Big Machine/John Varvatos Records.

The label remains headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, operating independently while benefiting from Hybe Corporation's global resources and industry expertise. This ownership structure allows Big Machine to maintain its strong presence in country music while having access to international markets through Hybe's extensive network.
