Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges including gang activity, drug possession, and gun charges. The plea comes after two and a half years of legal proceedings.

The rapper received a 40-year sentence with the following terms:

  • First 5 years credited as time served
  • 15 years probation
  • Additional 20 years that could be commuted if probation terms are met

Key probation conditions include:

  • Must stay away from metro Atlanta for first 10 years (except for family events)
  • Required to make quarterly anti-gang presentations at schools
  • 100 hours of community service annually
  • Random drug screening
  • No firearm possession
  • No association with gang members or co-defendants (except his brother and Gunna)

The plea was entered without a deal with prosecutors, leaving sentencing to Judge Paige Reese Whitaker. Young Thug's attorney, Brian Steel, noted they were confident in winning at trial, but the rapper chose to accept the plea to avoid further delays and return to his family.

The case stems from a massive indictment involving over two dozen defendants charged with violating Georgia's anti-racketeering law. Three co-defendants pleaded guilty this week, while nine others accepted plea deals before the trial began.
