YouTube is expanding its generative AI capabilities in Shorts with enhanced features powered by Google DeepMind's Veo 2 video generation model. This upgrade builds upon the Dream Screen feature introduced last year.

Key Features:

• Generate standalone video clips for Shorts using text prompts
• Create custom AI backgrounds with improved speed and quality
• Better physics and human movement rendering
• Ability to specify styles, lens effects, and cinematic effects

How to Use Dream Screen:

1. Open Shorts camera
2. Select Green Screen, then Dream Screen
3. Enter text prompt
4. Select image
5. Create video background

Creating Video Clips:

1. Open Shorts camera
2. Tap Add to open media picker
3. Tap Create at the top
4. Input prompt
5. Select image
6. Tap Create video
7. Choose desired length

Important Notes:

• All AI-generated content includes SynthID watermarks and clear labels
• Currently available in US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
• Global rollout planned for future release
