Apple Music Launches in China Through Major Partnership with China Mobile
Apple and China Mobile have partnered to bring Apple Music to over one billion subscribers in mainland China. Customers can activate the service through the China Mobile app or at retail locations.
Subscription pricing in mainland China:
- Student: 6 yuan
- Individual: 11 yuan
- Family: 17 yuan

This partnership may expand further, with discussions ongoing about bringing Apple TV+ to China Mobile's subscriber base. Apple has previously succeeded with similar strategic partnerships in China, including:
- A 2018 partnership with Douyin (China's TikTok) offering integrated music libraries for existing subscribers and three-month trials for new users
- Douyin became the first Chinese short-form video app in Apple Music's partnership program
In India, Apple has partnered with Airtel to offer:
- Apple TV+ and Apple Music integration with Airtel Xstream
- Apple Music bundled with Airtel WiFi and Postpaid plans
- Integration of Airtel's Wynk music service into Apple Music, including staff and subscriber transition
These partnerships demonstrate Apple's strategy of collaborating with established regional players to expand its music and content services globally.
