Autopsy Reveals Liam Payne's Cause of Death: Multiple Trauma After Hotel Fall
Preliminary autopsy results reveal Liam Payne, former One Direction singer, died from "multiple trauma and internal and external bleeding" after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 16, at approximately 5:40 PM ET.

Local authorities responded to an emergency call reporting an "aggressive man" possibly under the influence of substances. Upon arrival, they found Payne in the hotel's courtyard with fatal head injuries. Pablo Policicchio, communications director of the Ministry of Security of Buenos Aires, confirmed that Payne "had jumped from the balcony of his room."
The forensic report indicates that Payne "did not adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself," suggesting he may have fallen "in a state of semi or total unconsciousness." Evidence of alcohol or drugs was reportedly found in his hotel room. The 31-year-old singer had previously discussed his struggles with addiction, having announced six months of sobriety earlier this year.
Payne was in Argentina to attend a concert by his former bandmate, Niall Horan. The investigation is ongoing to determine whether the fall was accidental or intentional. No other individuals were present in his room at the time of the incident.
