BBR Music Group has suspended country singer Jimmie Allen following a lawsuit accusing him of rape and sexual assault. The suspension, announced on May 11, comes after a member of Allen's day-to-day team filed legal action against him.

The unnamed plaintiff filed suit in Tennessee civil court, alleging sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking, and emotional distress over approximately 18 months. The lawsuit also names Allen's former manager Ash Bowers and Wide Open Music as defendants.

The woman claims Wide Open Music was negligent in assigning her to work with Allen, alleging the company knew about his previous questionable behavior around women. Elizabeth Fegan, the plaintiff's attorney, stated that instead of receiving promised mentorship, her client was "offered up to Allen for his predation."

Allen has denied the allegations, stating he had a consensual sexual relationship with the accuser. Wide Open Music has since ceased working with Allen and has transitioned out of artist management altogether.

In response to the allegations, the Country Music Association removed Allen from the 2024 CMA Fest lineup, where he was scheduled to perform at Nashville's Nissan Stadium on June 11 alongside artists including Ashley McBryde, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, and Tim McGraw.
