The lawsuit targets the documentary, which premiered on January 14th, for allegedly making false and damaging claims about Combs. According to the legal filing, the documentary wrongly accuses Diddy of being involved in multiple deaths, including those of:
- Kimberly Porter (former partner)
- The Notorious B.I.G.
- Andre Harrell (Uptown Records founder)
- Heavy D
The suit states these individuals died of natural causes, with the exception of Biggie Smalls, and describes the accusations as "deeply distressing, offensive, reckless, and malicious."
Additionally, the lawsuit challenges claims made about:
- An alleged attempted murder of Al B. Sure! (which the suit attributes to complications from bariatric surgery)
- The existence of "Diddy tapes"
- Allegations of sex trafficking underage girls
This legal action follows a separate $50 million defamation suit Diddy filed against Courtney Burgess and attorney Ariel Mitchell for allegedly fabricating allegations against him.
The lawsuit argues that beyond monetary damages, the documentary threatens Diddy's right to a fair trial in his upcoming May criminal case by "maliciously perpetuating" what his legal team calls "vile rumors."
