Elon Musk Dismisses TikTok Acquisition Rumors, Says He Has No Plans to Bid
Elon Musk has firmly denied any involvement or interest in acquiring TikTok during his remarks at a recent summit in late January. The Tesla CEO explicitly stated, "I have not put in a bid for TikTok," and emphasized he has no plans for the platform.

Musk clarified his position on acquisitions, noting that he rarely acquires companies and instead prefers building them from scratch. His currently active founded companies include SpaceX, The Boring Company, Neuralink, and xAI.
Meanwhile, ByteDance is working to circumvent potential App Store restrictions by developing a side-loadable version of TikTok for Android devices. This comes as President Biden signed a law that could impose $5,000 fines per instance of download.
Several prominent figures have expressed interest in acquiring TikTok's U.S. operations, including:
- President Trump, who suggested incorporating it into a proposed U.S. sovereign wealth fund
- Frank McCourt
- Kevin O'Leary
- Steven Mnuchin

The platform's future remains uncertain as various potential buyers emerge while ByteDance explores technical workarounds to maintain its presence in the U.S. market.
