The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, shows Farrell screaming expletives at the crowd before confronting guitarist Dave Navarro. The situation escalated when Farrell began throwing punches, requiring restraint from crew members and bassist Eric Avery.
Etty Lau Farrell, Perry's wife, explained on Instagram that excessive stage volume led to the incident. According to her account, audience complaints about being unable to hear Perry's vocals during "Ocean Size" triggered his outburst. She also detailed that the bassist put Perry in a headlock and struck him three times, while Navarro attempted to defuse the situation.
The band issued an apology on Instagram, announcing the cancellation of their Bridgeport show. Ticket holders can obtain refunds at their point of purchase.
Despite this incident, Jane's Addiction's remaining September and October tour dates are currently scheduled to proceed as planned, with their next performance set for September 18 in Toronto.
Confirmed upcoming shows include performances across major venues in Canada and the United States, with the tour concluding at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA, on October 16.
