The payments came from two companies owned by Plant:
- Trolcharm Limited (established 1981): £3 million ($3.75 million)
- Sons of Einion Limited (established 1997): £4 million ($5 million)
Both companies focus on different aspects of Plant's music career:
- Trolcharm Limited handles "performing arts"
- Sons of Einion Limited manages "sound recording and music publishing activities"
This significant payout coincides with several notable developments:
- The upcoming release of "Becoming Led Zeppelin" documentary in February
- The recent sale of a 10% stake in Led Zeppelin's catalog by Helen Grant (daughter of former manager Peter Grant)
- The sale reportedly focused on masters rights, excluding publishing
- Previous reports suggested a value of approximately $10.6 million (£8.5 million)
Plant's earnings reflect his extensive career, including both Led Zeppelin classics and successful solo ventures like his 1988 album "Now and Zen." The 76-year-old musician continues to maintain control of both companies, with family members serving as directors.
Note: These dividend payments are specific to the 2024 fiscal year, with no similar payments reported for 2023.
