AI-powered music generator and virtual artist creator SoloAI has secured $2 million in seed funding, led by HongShan (formerly Sequoia China) with participation from Story Protocol.

SoloAI combines AI music generation with streaming services and social features, positioning itself as a platform to democratize music creation. Users can create, share, and monetize their tracks using AI technology, while participating in talent show-style contests within the community.

A key differentiator is SoloAI's integration of AI-powered VTuber agents, including DJ SONA, who performs and interacts with audiences 24/7 on both the platform and Twitch. These virtual artists can compose and perform music in real-time.

The platform's blockchain integration allows generated music to become tradeable digital assets on-chain. Users must connect a crypto wallet to join, and will soon have the ability to create their own avatars.

This funding round positions SoloAI in the growing AI music generation market, alongside competitors like Suno, Udio, Melodio, and Boomy. The platform's unique combination of AI music creation, virtual performers, and blockchain technology sets it apart in the increasingly crowded space.
