The backup process involves connecting your TikTok account through Amplify.ai (a TrillerNet acquisition from 2021), which downloads videos, profile information, and follower data. Users must provide an email address and create a Triller account to complete the transfer.

Despite marketing it as a "one-click setup," the process involves multiple steps. This move comes as uncertainty surrounds the TikTok ban, with President-elect Trump requesting the Supreme Court to pause the ban's implementation, citing concerns about freedom of expression and political speech.

The potential ban has sparked widespread discussion on TikTok, with creators directing followers to alternative platforms like Triller, Twitch, and Lemon8.

Triller's Background:

  • Recently settled a lawsuit with Timbaland and Swizz Beats over Verzuz acquisition
  • Currently facing a $35.5 million lawsuit from Yorkville Advisors
  • Successfully completed IPO in October 2024 after three failed attempts
  • Current stock price: approximately $2.50
