
Amazon Completes $4B Anthropic Investment With Additional $2.75 Billion
Amazon has concluded its $4 billion investment in AI company Anthropic, adding $2.75 billion to its initial $1.25 billion contribution. This strategic partnership brings significant developments in the AI landscape.
As part of the agreement, Anthropic will use AWS as its primary cloud provider for critical workloads, including:
- Safety research
- Foundation model development
- Implementation of AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips
- Providing AWS customers access to future foundation models via Amazon Bedrock

The partnership recently introduced the Claude 3 family of models on Amazon Bedrock, featuring:

- Enhanced steerability and accuracy
- New vision capabilities
AWS and Anthropic have also partnered with Accenture to help organizations in regulated industries like healthcare, public sector, banking, and insurance implement generative AI solutions responsibly.
