DJ Envy Faces Legal Subpoena in Real Estate Ponzi Scheme Investigation
DJ Envy has been served a subpoena in connection with a real estate Ponzi scheme case involving his former business partner Cesar Pina. The radio personality must submit financial documents related to his dealings with Pina by January 8.

Pina was arrested in October 2023 for wire fraud after allegedly operating a fraudulent house-flipping business that cost investors millions of dollars. DJ Envy, who promoted the company on his radio show 'The Breakfast Club,' claims he lost $500,000 in the scheme after hiring Pina and his wife to convert a former school into apartments.
However, Pina disputes DJ Envy's victim status, stating on Instagram Live that they were business partners in both real estate seminars and transactions. The court filing warns that failure to comply with the subpoena could result in contempt charges and sanctions.
The case has drawn additional attention due to a separate lawsuit from two investors who claim they lost $1.5 million in the unrealized apartment complex project. Pina filed for bankruptcy in August, further complicating the legal proceedings.
If DJ Envy fails to produce the requested documents by the deadline, the trustee will file a notice of default, potentially leading to a court hearing to address appropriate sanctions against all parties involved.
